It's important for residents to know from each councillor what their core principles are when it comes to how they perform the role of councillor.

Accordingly, this is my core pledge to you.
I Pledge to all the residents of Palerang that I will:
- Strive to provide professional governance to Council including appropriate confirmation that Rates are being used as productively and efficiently as they can be.
- Strive to improve communication and transparency between the residents and Council, especially by using the Internet to bring live council meetings and other important shire information into every home and business.
- Work to bring the community together, town and country, to find ways to locally address the effects of climate change with the intent that our shire grows and prospers from the change and not withers or becomes self-absorbed.
- Strive to enhance local employment prospects in all localities of the shire and make our shire more liveable and friendly.
- Strive to make our community more prosperous and self-sufficient for fresh food and essential human services including frequent public transportation.
- Work to preserve your rights and not give them away without your specific informed consent. Nor will I work to turn our Local Government Area (shire) over to another LGA.
- View that my role depends on consultation with the residents and is not a blank cheque to run off on narrow causes or personal agendas.
- Be straight talking with you and not beat around the bush with political double-speak.
- Do my best to set aside any personal bias on matters before council and listen to all points openly and weigh-in on the side of their merits and law.
- Apply common sense to situations rather than political rhetoric.
As an independent councillor, I know that I can stand by these commitments because they are my commitments.
It is on these 10 pledges to the residents of Palerang that I ran for election and on them I agree to be held to task if elected.
